* Knit yourself a mug cosy and sip a glass of cranberry juice
warmed on the stove and stirred with a spoonful of pep me up ginger, from it.
*Make clementine marmalade then layer it between stacks of day old bread for a scrumptiously Wintery take on bread and butter pudding.
* Write your most important New Years Resolution on the back of a vintage postcard and use it as a bookmark on your bedside.
* Go knicker shopping. There is something so terribly re-assuring about starting the New Year in new underwear.
* Go through your bookshelves and choose at least twelve books to give away. There is a whole, brand new beautiful year of reading to make room for...
* Chop a pair of softly warm flannel pyjamas into some fabulously cozy dusters. Start a duster drawer!
* Wrap a bar of sweet smelling soap in a pretty crocheted doillie and put it in your sock drawer. (And lay a bar of tissue wrapped baby soap in amongst your babba'a clothes)
* Buy a tiny little snowdrop and plant it in a tea cup on your bedside for the short-lived joy of waking up to Wintery loveliness.
*Choose a basket high upon a shelf in which to store old journals and diaries. Yes, I know you want to keep them, but they are your yesterdays and referring to them doesn't help you to see tomorrow in a gorgeous new light.
* And in the same vein empty notice and inspiration boards today and let your mind start a- wandering down a scrumptious new path.
*Spend a lovely steamy warm half hour hand washing your vintage handkerchief collection in lavender scented water.
*Throw blankets over the radiators before you do the afternoon school run, so you can wrap chilly children up in warmth with hot milk and flapjacks when they get home.
