Hello Friends and Clients,
Have you ever wanted to swim with whales?
 | | photo from Turks and Caicos Aggressor II photo cd 2011 | Our March 16-23, 2013 Sacred Swims trip to Silver Bank has just had a cancellation of two people.
Can you imagine slipping quietly into the water to swim with the whales, hearing their beautiful, haunting songs as you gaze into their eyes, literally feeling the vibration of their songs move through your body? Imagine feeling the profound exchange of love and trust with humpback mothers as they allow their calves to swim and twirl next to you under water. Imagine fifty foot, fifty ton whales sitting in stillness next to you, exuding gentleness, trust, wisdom and fathomless love. Imagine speaking with the whales, soul to soul, voice to voice, body to body. Imagine your heart humbled and your soul graced by their presence. That's what happens on our Sacred Swims with Whales trips! I hope you consider joining us in 2013 or a later year. If you'd like to be placed on a wait list, just let us know. | photo copyright Tom Conlin

Conversations with Whales:What They Have to Say to Humans
| When we listen with a genuine depth of empathy, respect and love, and regard ourselves as soul peers rather than as a superior (or inferior) species to whales, we can then begin to hear them with grace and ease. We can then telepathically receive their thoughts, feelings and stories of what it is like to be a whale, and their perceptions about the tapestry and purpose of our existence together on earth. Hear dozens of stories in this 2 1/2 hour webinar including audio files and 163 pages of corresponding handouts and whale images. If you love whales, you will love these stories. Courageous Humpbacks Help Grays Attacked by Orcas in Monterey Bay, CA
|
In a remarkable show of courage, empathy and love, seven humpbacks attempted to save a gray whale mother and her calf who were being attacked by nine transient orcas on May 3, 2012.

When I attempted to talk with the whales, the mother gray whale wanted her experience to remain private, not shared with humans. None of the orcas were interested in having a conversation. One of the humpbacks, however, wanted to speak on behalf of the seven humpbacks:
We were extremely angry and remain outraged with these whales who viciously killed this innocent newborn and other whales. They do not kill and eat us for food but for sport. We know this is not true of orcas who live in large family groups and eat fish. It is these roaming rogue whales who kill not to survive but for pleasure. They are outcasts from their normal family groups. We consider them what you would call mentally ill. We fear and avoid them as you do the predatory criminals of your species. All species have individuals who become unbalanced, sometimes to a point of being violent. In the oceans, the worst case of this is the roaming orcas. Yes, as you say, we were brave, but not heroes. We could not save the baby. We want to live in harmony in the ocean, as do the grays and almost whales. This killing, and all of the orca whale killings, serve no biological, survival or defensible purpose.
May the tragedy of this death receive our prayers.
May the soul of the precious gray calf be at peace.
May his mother be blessed with comfort as she grieves. May the courage of these humpbacks be acknowledged.
And may the killing orcas be blessed with balance and peace.

Witnessing Whale Entanglement
& How We Can Stop This Horror
| Thanks to the popularity of the TV show Whale Wars, people around the world are more aware of the horrors of whaling. But there is not nearly as much publicity about whale entanglement in fishing gear. The entanglement stories that do make headlines or are shared in social media over and over are typically the rare, spectacular disentanglement video or photos where the whale nuzzles or breaches for the rescuers and swims happily away. These feel good stories and images are deinitely worth celebrating! But we should not forget that thousands of other cetaceans remain entangled (300,000 per year) and suffer terribly, sometimes for years before dying. The good news?
WE HAVE THE POWER TO STOP WHALE ENTANGLEMENT. Read this story of the disentanglement of a humpback in Silver Bank in Feb 2012 which I witnessed and how you can be a powerful part of ending entanglement.
