A NEW FACE AT STAFF MEETINGS! Martha Henson recently joined our team at CYD as Director of Community Relations. Martha has already brought in many great new volunteers and in-kind services to CYD. Her position strengthens our core programming and helps provide the resources CYD students need to succeed. This position is generously funded by a private donor who is determined to make CYD even stronger for our students. CYD FAMILY YOGA! Bring your family and come experience Family Yoga at CYD. Tracy Sharp, an Ashtanga yoga instructor will lead six sessions (designed for all ages!) starting Sunday, March 11 and continuing through April 15. These Family Yoga sessions are from 4PM until 5:30PM and will provide a great way to wind down the weekend with your family. Tracy is providing this yoga series free to CYD, requesting that you make a donation to CYD for your participation - the amount is up to you!  | |

CYD Highlights
POETRY INSPIRES
We had the privilege of having Tom Painting visit our studio and lead a teen poetry workshop. The CYD teens wrote haiku poems and are preparing to enter a poetry competition with the haiku they completed since the workshop with Tom. Our students beamed as they read their poems aloud to the group. Tom, thank you for inspiring our students!

CYD COLLEGE DREAMERS
Last year's graduating seniors have all completed their first semester of college life! Many of these alumni came back to CYD during their winter break to share their college experience with our younger students. These alums are leading the way for CYD's next generation of graduates.
CYD offers support to our college students based on their individual needs. For many of our college students, we provide assistance with the following college expenses:
- Tuition
- Textbooks
- Meal Plans
- Dorm
- Transportation
- Laptops

CYD CREATES CHANGE
Starting with students in the third grade, CYD builds the foundation needed for dreams to grow. When a CYD student becomes a senior in high school, he or she will have experienced nearly a decade of support and consistency from our program. This long-term involvement with positive and consistent adults allows students to build a different life for themselves.
Our students break the cycle of generational poverty because of CYD's dedication and your support. Typically, CYD students are the first in their family to graduate from high school and to attend college, so they depend on us to lead the way.
CYD provides students with year-round, seven-days-a-week, afterschool and weekend enrichment activities, college and career prep, financial literacy, summer camp, access to loving and consistant adults and role models along with the following, based on individual student needs:
- Food
- Clothing
- Medical Services
- School Supplies
- Transportation
