Greetings!

This edition contains important information for organizations that use AdminP for Lotus Notes administrative tasks; for organizations that are considering Lotus Sametime Advanced; and for administrators who may be asked to extend the unsupported chat logging tool that ships with Lotus Sametime.

Read on for all the details.....

QuestionMark
With Lotus Sametime Advanced, IBM has extended the capabilities of Lotus Sametime Standard (instant messaging, VoIP, video chats, and Web conferencing) to include persistent group chat, broadcast tools, and screen sharing.

We at Instant have long offered comparable capabilities in Instant Team Sessions (encrypted and secure browser-based persistent chat rooms) and Instant Queue Manager (real-time, presence-aware access to subject matter experts).

We've prepared a technical brief that compares the features of Lotus Sametime Advanced with those of Instant Team Sessions and Instant Queue Manager, along with the complexity of deploying and managing the two options, to help you decide which option meets your requirements for the lowest total cost of ownership.

Buddy_List_Administrator
Instant Buddy List Administrator provides centrally-controlled, server-side management of IBM Lotus Sametime contacts, groups, and group memberships.

Because AdminP is the backbone of many Lotus Notes administrative tasks, integrating it with Buddy List Administrator will automate buddy list management tasks. Buddy List Administrator will immediately respond to and resolve Lotus Domino and Lotus Sametime administrative requests submitted into AdminP.

Read this technical brief to learn how integration of AdminP and Buddy List Administrator will reduce costs, improve service, and minimize administrative overhead.

Instant IMtegrity Archives
IBM ships Lotus Sametime with a default (but unsupported) logging tool that is intended to demonstrate the extensibility of Lotus Sametime's API. This tool essentially stores chats as text files in a designated folder on the server.

Hendricks Regional Health evaluated the effort required to build a chat logging solution to meet their wish list of requirements, but ultimately decided it made no sense to "reinvent the wheel" based on an unsupported IBM tool. They turned instead to Instant IMtegrity Archives from Instant Technologies. A decision, they say, that put them "money ahead" over a custom development effort.

We need your feedback!

We are building a charting and reporting module for Instant IMtegrity Archives in response to your requests for metrics on how your users are using Sametime.

We need your input into the module's design and capabilities. This is your opportunity to request/suggest features to meet your requirements.

Please click the link below to access the prototype. Play with the software and then send your comments to Instant Feedback.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.
