Hey! It's spring. And as we waddle out of our dens, looking for berries and other goodies, there are many great reviews, award nominations and more. 

CLA Young Adult Book Award...

All Good Children, a teen novel by Catherine Austen, has won the 2012 Canadian Library Association's Young Adult Book Award. The award will be presented at the CLA Annual Convention in June. 

Congratulations to the author.  


All Good Children
has also been shortlisted for the Teen Top Ten list from YALSA and ALA.

 

And Booklist said of the book: "Austen writes with cinematic definition, driving the action with taut dialogue and unremitting menace...Action-packed, terrifying, and believable...will provoke important discussions about subservience, resistance, and individual freedom."     

 

Ham-stars...
Hamsters Hamsters Holding Hands, the new (and cutest ever) board book from Kass Reich, has received a starred review from Publishers Weekly.

The review said in part: "This charming counting book features spunky, pear-shaped hamsters engaging in simple yet unexpected fun."
