Welcome to our October 12 Newsletter from Spencers Agents! We have had an interesting month with some properties selling almost immediately, and with some surprising results. We are always astounded at how many people come to Spencers because they know us and have been recommended; it is incredibly reassuring that people like what we are doing.  

There is something very romantic about Autumn. Despite the weather, we are starting to see the changes in the colours in the trees, and it is very comforting to get wrapped up in autumn clothes and take a walk. We have been loving living back close to Endcliffe Park and have been really making the most of the short walk through the park to the great restaurants on Ecclesall Road. Autumnal favourite is definitely All Siam for ginger-garlic-chilli cold warding hearty foods! You must try if you haven't been already.

So, October is upon us! Let's get some houses sold for buyers to move in for Christmas - there is still plenty of time.

SPENCERS Top Tips!
 
This month's Top Tip is one for the vendors, STOP BEING EMOTIONAL. Ok, so that makes me sound like a bit of hardcase (no comments please); but you need to walk around your house and stop looking at it like it is your home and look at it like a buyer would. Your oodles of personal photographs everywhere WILL put people off; they do not want to imagine you in your house, they want to imagine themselves. Your cuddly toys in the spare bedroom might hold some fabulous memories and the 20-year collection of owls in the smallest room that you have always loved might have taken some finding; but believe me, no one is really interested. You need to allow others to envisage themselves in your home. On a social level, most people learn to love your habits / hobbies / dogs / kids, but you aren't selling yourself, you are selling bricks and mortar.
