The Multimedia Industry is one of the fastest growing industry segments in the college's service area. The new Multimedia Technician  Program starting this fall  will offer three skills attainment certificates with  a variety of entrepreneurship, multimedia, and digital graphic classes that are designed to introduce students to a variety of multimedia tools and techniques. The Program will also feature a new state of the art  Mac Lab, iPads for classroom usage,  industry standard software and video production equipment. Meet the Program Instructors

 

 

Kath Christensen is our lead faculty for the Multimedia Technician Program and will be teaching the Digital Graphics, Computer Art, Animation and 3D Modeling classes. Kath's speciality is digital art and design.

  

 

 

 

 

  

 

Kathy Schultz teaches Computer Information Systems and Computer Science classes and will be teaching the Introduction to Digital Media and the Web Development classes. Kathy loves to see students reach their potential with "real world" connections through internship opportunities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ida Ponder will offer classes in Social Media Marketing and focus on the  "Multimedia Technician as the Entrepreneur" with exciting introductory classes. Ida also teaches in the Business and Computer Science Department.

 

   

 

 

  Bonnie O'Neill

Bonnie O'Neill has taught Film and Video for both The Art Institutes of California/San Francisco (Ai) and Diablo Valley College for the past 10 years. She has worked as a freelance writer, producer and director for both non-fiction (educational, cable T.V., documentary and training videos) and fiction film and video. Her work has taken her from conceptualization through distribution.

Jana Connell 
Jana Connell, our Multimedia Technician has been instrumental in providing multimedia support and mentoring to students and faculty in the Instructional Technology Center. She also mentored the in-house intern, Kris Osward who assisted us in creating a variety of on-campus video productions.
 
Student Interns 

This spring the Multimedia Team piloted a Multimedia Internship Program. There were two Multimedia In-house Interns, Kris Osward and Emilee Fransson and one External Intern that was placed with Lovgren Productions, Travis Bainbridge. The interns worked on a variety of projects ranging from video projects to digital artwork and marketing materials.
