Dear Friends,
Although the verdict's still out on what's Japan's second best cultural contribution to the world (we're going with Pokemon, but affordable cars come in a close third), there's no doubt that Japanese cuisine has forever changed the way we look at raw fish.
Like most Singaporeans, Team Chope loves Japanese cuisine. In fact, we love it unconditionally. Sushi? Yes please. Sashimi? Definitely. Sumiyaki? NOMNOMNOM. Nouveau Japanese cuisine with French or European influences? We're there! We don't discriminate when it comes to our love of the food from the land of the rising sun. Why are we telling you all this? Well, because the result of all that LOVE is a whole range of choices amongst Chope's Japanese restaurants!
Searching for sashimi and sushi? We'd strongly recommend Akari Japanese Dining & Bar, Standing Sushi Bar, or Yumeya! All of them pride themselves on offering fresh, premium quality sushi and sashimi! The best part? All three also offer excellent value considering the quality on offer.
Not a fan of raw fish? Or maybe you just OD'd on yusheng over Chinese New Year. San-Sui Sumiyaki & Bar is where you need to go. White hot charcoal + fresh ingredients = delicious Japanese BBQ. You definitely can't go wrong here.
If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, then you need to try B@Rochester and Hinoki. Both offer traditional Japanese staples like sushi and sashimi, but where they really shine is when their resident chefs go all out on creativity. Whether it's B@Rochester's scampi somen or Hinoki's foie gras sushi, you can rest assured your taste buds will be tingled.
Before we sign off, we're proud to announce the addition of Hangoga Grill (our inaugural offering in Korean cuisine), Halia (a scenic culinary escape in the Botanic Gardens), and Zaffiro (a newcomer to the Italian scene in Asia Square) to our site.
またね!
Bon appétit,
The Chope Team
