Dear Friends,
It's been the start of a seriously "sweet" month at Chope!
First of all, we've majorly sweetened up our Facebook presence with the launch of our booking page. No need to pause your addiction to Facebook for the sake of making dinner plans! Just click a logo on our "Restaurants" page and book a reservation instantly.
Speaking of addictions, some of us at Chope are known for our passion for sweets, but this month, these bad dessert habits finally get put to good use! October is Sweet Charity Month, a fundraiser for the NUH Kids' Heart Fund. Order a signature dessert at some of Singapore's most popular restaurants, and the NUH Kids' Heart Fund will receive a $5 donation. Wondering what desserts are available? Check out the collage of irresistable signature desserts at www.sweetcharitymonth.com, a Chope-sponsored website. Place your reservation or takeaway order on the site, and Chope will donate an extra $1 per order. We were on a complete sugar high after attending the Sweet Charity Month launch event, where we literally guzzled some of the Chope team's most cherished desserts, like Epicurious' red velvet cake (a hard-to-find treat in Singapore) and The Disgruntled Chef's toffee pudding (a not-too-sweet, not-too-gooey pudding served warm with ice cream). We also found a new love in OverEasy's donut balls, which were lightly sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, perfectly light and soft in texture, and served warm with a drizzle of Nutella fondue.
Finally, we have one last serving of sweetness for our readers. We just added our first dessert concept, 2am:dessertbar to Chope, as well as several other new restaurants, including Hummerstons (American), Le Saint Julien (French), and Porterhouse (Argentinian steakhouse).
Until next time...
Bon appétit,
The Chope Team
