Gluten-free sweeps the
Sonoma County Harvest Fair
Last month we congratulated Mama Baretta's for winning the 2012 Sonoma County Harvest Fair Best of Show for their Salted Caramel Nut Lace Cookies. We've learned that Thai Time Asian Bistro in Santa Rosa, which has an extensive GF/vegan menu, swept up a number of golds, including Best of Show Appetizer for its Floating Market Soup. Read about them both in the Press Democrat article.

Participate in New Stanford Celiac Research
We have a special relationship with Stanford University School of Medicine, where our foundation got its start. A researcher there mentioned that our community's recent participation in their research has been "amazing" and is a key component helping shed some light on celiac disease and autoimmunity.
More on that when the research gets published. In the meantime, below are two more opportunities to jump in and be a part of this important work.
Participation requirements for both studies: - Age > 18 years - Weight > 110 pounds - No history of anemia - In generally good health These are government-sponsored studies to improve the understanding of celiac disease, and not for profit. The studies have been approved by the Stanford Institutional Review Board. For information on participating in the studies, please contact Dr. Arnold Han at ahan2@stanford.edu. For general information about patient rights, please contact 1-866-680-2906. |

The study involves:
- One 100cc blood draw
- Ingestion of 4 slices of white bread per day for 3 days
- A second 100cc blood draw 7 days after the first one
If eligible, you will be compensated $200 for your time and any inconvenience once your involvement is complete.
