The Green Coat Ambassadors will hold a ribbon cutting for Bossard on Tuesday, August 28, at 2:30 p.m. The business is located at 1550 Industrial Road next to Ready Mix USA and has just completed a 48,000 square-foot expansion that will add approximately 10 jobs.

Buggin' For A Cure

Tourism and the Northeast Tennessee VW Association announce the entertainment lineup for "Buggin' for a Cure" VW Car Show September 22-23 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Bands such as Seventh Inning Stretch, Amend the Broken, The New Chronic Dream featuring Frank Bowman, and Heppy Cats will take the stage Saturday, along with many more entertainers. Also, more than 30 crafters and 12 automotive dealers are signed up to participate, and clubs from Chattanooga, Knoxville, Morristown and Greeneville have already committed to attend with their cars. Consumer Credit Union Groundbreaking

More than 150 CCU officials, local business leaders, and elected officials attended the groundbreaking for Consumer Credit Union's new headquarters on East Andrew Johnson Highway last Monday. The two-story building will cost $3 million and will be completed in about 10 months.

Facebook Campaign Is A Success

The Partnership just concluded a month-long advertising campaign on Facebook that resulted in 70 new page likes! The ad appeared on Facebook more than 212,660 times and garnered more than 140 actions from users. The Partnership now has 293 page likes and hopes to continually grow that number as it brands itself as the place to go on Facebook for information about Greeneville and Greene County. Leadership 2011-12 Class Graduates

Fourteen local business leaders from the Greene County Partnership's Leadership Greene County 2011-12 Class were presented certificates and Leadership Greene County shirts as part of their graduation ceremony at the Partnership's monthly breakfast sponsored by Walters State Community College Tuesday, August 14, at the General Morgan Inn. Marty Shelton of the Greeneville Fire Department was honored with the 2011-12 Outstanding Leadership Award for his dedication and achievement in the Leadership program, while Will Glover of John Deere Power Products received the 2011-12 Outstanding Character Award.

New Name For Center For Technology

The name has changed but the mission remains to provide all students with superior academic and technical training opportunities and enable them to become successful and productive citizens ready to enter today's workforce. Training is available for day and evening students and includes a broad range of classes. New Program For Cancer Patients

The community is invited to an open house for Takoma Regional Hospital's new program, "Day by Day Feel Better." It is a program for breast cancer patients that includes one-on-one counseling, prosthetics, special bras, wigs, scarves and make-up for those going through cancer treatment. The open house will be Tuesday, August 28, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and refreshments will be served.

Ruby Gettinger Coming To Greeneville!

The Greene County Health Council will host a free program with Ruby Gettinger on Wednesday, September 26, 7-8:30 p.m. at Crescent Auditorium (615 W. Main St.). Gettinger has shared her incredible weight loss journey on television programs such as Oprah, Rachel Ray, Regis & Kelly, Today, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz and many more. While in Greeneville, Gettinger will also be available for a special workout session September 27-28 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the YMCA. The cost to join the workout is $50 (must be 12 years of age) and each participant will receive a certificate for a free 30-minute session with a personal trainer at the YMCA.
