Tourism Keeps Busy
| |
The Sports Council had a very busy week last week! On Wednesday, Greeneville hosted the Appalachian Athletic Conference Council of Presidents annual meeting that included 14 presidents touring facilities and meeting people in our community. Wednesday through Friday of last week, Greeneville welcomed Hal Yost from Amateur Athletic Union Golf as he toured Link Hills Country Club in preparation for the AAU National Golf Tournament that will take place July 19-22. If your organization, church or civic club knows of any sporting events that are searching for host sites for tournaments, please contact Tammy Kinser at tkinser@greenecop.com. Tourism's focus is to put "heads in beds" and it is quite obvious by the success that the Sports Council has had with the NAIA Golf Championships, that sports definitely benefit the local economy.

The Tourism Department is wrapping up two major projects to promote our community. First of all, ads will be finalized for the 2012-2013 Greeneville Visitor Guide by this Wednesday, June 20, and we will also finish advertising for the new "Tourism Relocation Welcome Bags" at the same time. If you are interested in promoting your business to thousands that request visitor/relocation/retirement information on this area, contact Tammy Kinser at tkinser@greenecop.com. This is a very inexpensive advertising opportunity.
