The Education & Workforce Development Department will be hosting a job fair on Thursday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Comfort Inn. DTR Tennessee, Inc., Angus-Palm Industries, Donaldson Company, Parker-Hannifin, and Premium Waters are among those who have already signed up to participate. Keep Greene Beautiful will be honoring local sanitation workers with an appreciation breakfast at Tusculum College Cafeteria on Wednesday, December 7, at 6 a.m. This annual event recognizes these individuals for the important service they provide the community. TRI Recieves Grant | |

The Tri-Cities Regional Airport has been selected to receive a Small Community Air Service Development (SCASD) grant from the US DOT for $250,000 to be used to entice American Airlines to initiate non-stop service to Dallas. DOT requires a cash contribution from the community as part of the air service project, which will be $50,000 for this grant. The airport needs only $35,000 more in pledges to reach its goal and officials are continuing to meet with community leaders to secure those pledges. |

Austin 4-H Center. The J.W. Massengill Award for Distinguished Service to Agriculture was presented to Ann Birdwell, and the Robert C. Austin Award for Distinguished Service to Community was presented to Milton Parham. Gus Macker Coming To Greeneville | Tammy Kinser will be attending the Gus Macker National Conference in Olean, NY, on November 17-19. The purpose of attending this conference is to train for Greene County's first Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament that will take place June 23-24, 2012. This event, expected to host more than 150 teams, is the first of its kind in the state of Tennessee and will add to Tourism's portfolio of sporting events for future promotion of our area. |
