Career Fair Is A Success! | |

Thank you to more than two dozen local employers that set up booths at the Career Fair on June 23 at the Comfort Inn. The event was sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, the Greene County Partnership, Greene Valley Developmental Center, Tennessee Department of Human Resources, Tennessee Career Centers and the Greene County Human Resources Association, and attracted a sizeable crowd of potential employees. |

Tourism Department Works On 'Greeneville Profile Sheet' |  |
Tourism is working on a new "Greeneville Profile Sheet" that will be mailed out to tour companies and bus groups to promote our area. The profile will include "what's new" announcements, an annual events listing, information on local attractions and quality photos that include visitors/locals enjoying our many attractions. If you have any high resolution photos that you would like to provide Tourism to use in this flier, please email those to tkinser@greenecop.com. A Greeneville itinerary will accompany this flier, along with brochures on our area.

Plans Underway For The Partnership's 18th Annual Golf 'Shoot-Out' | |
Join us Thursday, August 4, at Link Hills Country Club. Hole sponsorships are available at a cost of $175. The cost for a team to participate is $600 or $150 per player, which includes lunch, dinner and greens fees, as well as drinks during the tournament. Mark your calendars now to join the Partnership staff for a fun day on the links at this the Partnership's major fundraiser for the year. There will be lots of fun contests within the tournament, and numerous very nice door prizes to be given away following the dinner after the tournament. The 'Greene Game' Is Almost Here! | Keep Greene Beautiful and the Greeneville Astros invite the public to the "Greene Game" Saturday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Park. During the game between the Astros and the Bristol White Sox, fans will be informed of ways to help the environment. Earth-friendly vendors will be at the park during the game, and Keep Greene Beautiful will be collecting old cell phones and rechargeable batteries to be recycled. All companies that specialize in programmable thermostats, windows, or energy-efficient appliances or products are encouraged to obtain a free booth to promote their businesses at the event. The Tourism Department, along with the Department of Tourist Development and The Comfort Inn of Greeneville, will be sponsoring "The Web Assistance Fall Tour" on Wednesday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for FREE. It is your chance to get hands-on assistance with the tnvacation.com Web site, T3 deals program, the tnvacation mobile site and more! A knowledgeable Web team with members from the department's online agency and members of the tourist development staff will be on hand for consultations to help you maximize the online tools available to you as a member of Tennessee's tourism industry. Tourism is seeking advertising partners for the new Tennessee Family Fun Guide, a resource guide for fun family-oriented activities for all ages. This annual publication, with a professional distribution of 50,000 guides, will be available at more than 175 locations including welcome centers, rest areas, chambers of commerce, convention and visitor bureaus and advertisers' businesses. The Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville/Greene County will hold its 11th Annual Champions Dinner July 12 at First Baptist Church with former Tennessee Volunteer National Champion Quarterback Tee Martin as the keynote speaker. This year's event is title-sponsored by Forward Air and Laughlin Memorial Hospital. The event will start with a reception at 6 p.m. to meet Tee Martin and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. with the evening's program to follow.
