Phone Book Recycling Contest Now -July 29 | |

Don't throw away those old phone books - they could be worth money! Keep Greene Beautiful and CenturyLink are sponsoring the annual telephone book recycling contest to assist residents in disposing of old phone books. Clubs, church groups, businesses, industries and individuals are invited to enter the contest by collecting phone books and taking them to the Partnership, 115 Academy Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Participants must complete an entry form before placing the phone books in the recycling bin. The group or individual that brings in the most phone books to be recycled will receive $150 with a $50 award for second place. Deadline to enter is July 29. Results will be announced Friday, August 5. |

Annual Golf Shoot-Out |  |
Mark your calendars now for the Partnership's Annual Golf Shoot-Out
on Thursday, August 4, at Link Hills Country Club. This tournament, a major fundraiser for the organization, draws golfers from across the region for a relaxing, fun day on the links, providing lunch and dinner, as well as great contests and door prizes. More information and registration forms will be available within the next few weeks. |

Invitations will be going out soon for the "Partnership Night with the Astros," scheduled for Thursday, July 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with the game beginning at 7 p.m. The Greeneville Astros will host the Danville Braves at Pioneer Park at 135 Shiloh Road. The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, in cooperation with the Partnership's Education & Workforce Development Department, will host a Job Fair for displaced Greene Valley Developmental Center employees and other unemployed Greene County citizens on Thursday, June 23, at the Comfort Inn. The Job Fair will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Eight-foot tables and tablecloths will be furnished and there is no cost to participate.
