Newly Released: Annual Report on Funding Recommendations for Fiscal Year 2013
This Annual Report on Funding Recommendations is issued by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation to help inform the appropriations process for the upcoming fiscal year by providing information on projects included in the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) discretionary Capital Investment Program. This Report also provides information about the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit in the Parks Program, which is included as an Appendix. To reach a link to the report, click here.

FTA Civil Rights to host EEO Webinar on Program Submission
On Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 2:00-4:00pm Eastern Standard Time, the FTA Office of Civil Rights will be hosting an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Webinar to discuss the seven components of Circular 4704.1 program submission. This webinar will also cover completing a utilization analysis and statistical employment practices.
There are 99 slots available for each webinar. Therefore, access will be granted on a first come, first served basis.

Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals to host a Webinar on Best Practices for Maintenance Programs
Efficient and cost-effective maintenance of pedestrian facilities is an important safety measure. Attend this webinar to learn why maintenance programs are important, and how to make the case for maintenance at budget time; how to overcome the barriers to implementing a good maintenance program; and how to develop the elements of a program that includes both routine maintenance and responding to hazards. Best practices for inspection, replacement and snow removal will be discussed, as well as findings from recent research into pedestrian facility maintenance. The session will include a preview of the new FHWA publication, "A Guide for Maintaining Pedestrian Facilities for Enhanced Safety," due to be published by the end of 2012. The webinar will also include information related to maintenance of bicycle facilities.
