Q. We really need to get some new customers quickly. What is the best way we can do that?
A. First of all, do you want new customers or "new business"? Are you already working your database and regularly marketing to past and present customers...advising them of new products, services, and special offers? If so then it's time to add in a plan to develop new customers.
How you do that depends on your type of business. Retailers, restaurants, places with fixed locations open to the public do well with social networking such as Facebook and Twitter.
Service industries or manufacturing will do well with e-newsletters and traditional marketing such as targeted mailings or advertising.
My best advice is to implement marketing that is sustainable long-term instead of waiting until the last minute to to market. Successful marketing is a building process and it is unlikely you will see overnight success.

MAKE TOMORROW A BETTER DAY! TALK IT OUT!
Owning and running a business is challenging and sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees. Often when I meet a new client, I discover that they may be experiencing obstacles to growth beyond a lack of marketing.
When my colleagues and I discussed our similar client experiences, we realized how valuable it would be to collaborate and provide business owners with a broader and more diversified approach.
Greg Fadorsen of Fadorsen Financial, Jim Gray of JPG Advisors, and I have formed the Small Business Advisory Team. Together we bring expertise in the core areas of finance and banking relations; operations, engineering and planning; and business development-marketing and public relations.
Unlike business coaching or consulting firms, we are available to further help the business owner by implementing our recommendations if desired.
