Youth Awareness Disabilities Assemblies
YADA is comprised of local non-profit organizations and individual volunteers committed to making a difference for children. The mission is to offer quality programs that focus on raising awareness and sensitivity of disabilities in partnership with local elementary schools. On Tuesday, 10/9 and Wednesday, 10/10, YADA will offer a special hands-on presentation for our students. Students are challenged with disability symptom simulation activities, learn how to drive and handle wheelchairs, experience learning disability and vision simulations, and experience adaptive technology. This is sure to be an experience you will hear about at home!

Don't be left out of the Student Directory
This is your last chance to be included in the Lakeview Student Directory.
Please return the Student and Family Form with your student by Friday, 10/19. Printable forms available with this link.
You do not need to join PTSA to be included in the directory. Your student can be listed with his or her class without contact information if you prefer. The directory includes only students' names, parents' names, phone numbers and email addresses. PTSA members receive one free directory. After November, a limited number of directories will be for sale for $10 each.
A note about the Lakeview PTSA:
Anyone can join PTSA to show their support. PTSA members are not required to attend meetings or to volunteer at the school, although both are welcome. A portion of membership fees goes to the PTSA General Fund which helps financially support such important enrichment programs as the Art Docents, Family Dance Night, Walk to School Week, classroom supplies, the Lakeview Marathon and so much more. For more information about how the PTSA benefits your student, go to www.lwsd.org/lakeview under the PTSA menu.
