Golden Acorn Award
Each year Lakeview PTSA gives out the Golden Acorn Award to recognize a volunteer who has given outstanding service to all children in the school community. The Golden Acorn Award winner receives a gold pin in the shape of an acorn and a special certificate. A contribution of $65 is made in their name to the Washington State Financial Grant Program. This program provides grants to Washington State high school graduates entering their freshman year in college, university, or vocational school. Please use this link to access a printable nomination form. The winner will be honored at the school's volunteer breakfast Wednesday, 5/30. This form is due back no later than Friday, 5/18. You can send it to school with your child or put it in the PTSA inbox. You may also email me your nomination at basnaw@gmail.com. Please include your name, your nominee's name, and reasons for your nomination. Thank you for taking the time to fill this out!

Annual LWSF Luncheon On Wednesday, 5/23The Lake Washington Schools Foundation supports the Lake Washington School District by raising funds for programs that inspire learning, help at-risk students, and improve academic performance. Lakeview has been a recipient of funds from LWSF for several years now. Last year we received funds for our very successful Explorations in Math after-school program, which took place during the fall and winter of this school year. The foundation's major fundraiser is a luncheon which will be held on Wednesday, 5/23 from 11:30am to 12:45pm at the newly renovated Lake Washington High School. Please consider joining our Lakeview table. If you are interested in attending the luncheon, please contact Sonia Savelli ( lakptsaadvocacy@gmail.com). For more information, to register for the luncheon, or to donate go to http://lwsf.org/events.html.
