Dear Lakeview Families and Friends, It was wonderful to see such an outstanding turn out at the PTSA Carnival last weekend. I enjoy the opportunity to have our school community come together to share in the fun and excitement of that atmosphere! I'm including some highlights of important notes below:
-STUDENT-LED GOAL SETTING CONFERENCES- Thank you also for your participation in this last round of Student-Led Goal Setting Conferences. We celebrate that 98.4% of our parents were able to join their child in these conversations which will establish a positive direction toward goal attainment through the remainder of the year.
-HATS OFF! As a tribute to the Lakeview staff during Conferences, many of our parents stepped forward to contribute to a luncheon in their honor the first day of Conferences. The staff were deeply touched by this gesture and appreciative for having the time together as a teaching team (which they rarely have) for fellowship and relaxation during a particular hectic time of the year. I would love to be able to organize more staff luncheons for our teachers enjoyment during the year. If you are able, interested, and/or willing to help with this, please let me know.
-LOWER LOT PARKING REVISION (To begin Tuesday, 2/22)- Due to on-going congestion issues, the Lakeview Safety Committee (made up of parents and staff) have problem solved and will pilot the idea of having the following revisions happen in the lower lot off State Street beginning Tuesday, 2/22.
In the morning parents:
* Pull all the way forward (north) to drop their student(s) off just below the staircase closest to the field (north of the school)
In the afternoon:
* Parents please pull all the way forward (north) to pick up your student(s), just below the staircase closest to the field (north of the school)
* Students go to the staircase closest to the field (north of the school) to wait for their pick up
* Students line up on the FIELD SIDE of the chalk line
-FAMILY MATH NIGHT- We are thrilled to invite all Lakeview families to Family Math Night on Thursday, 2/23. This will include a Family Pizza Dinner in the Commons (5:45-6:15pm), Math Games for Families (6:15-6:30pm), and a Parent Workshop (6:30-7:15pm). Fliers have been sent home electronically, in hard copy and are available in the main office at school. Families are not required to attend the Pizza Dinner, it is completely optional. We hope to see you there!
