Potential Change To King County Policy
The Lake Washington School District may be affected by a potential change in King County land use policy. The King County Growth Management Planning Council (GMPC) is reviewing a set of framework policies that guide the growth management plan for each jurisdiction within King County. The GMPC currently is considering changing those policies in ways that could cost school districts and taxpayers millions of dollars. The LWSD owns rural land in Redmond Ridge and other areas, and will not be able to use it if the proposed changes take effect. For further information, visit the website. |
