Potential Change To King County Policy
The Lake Washington School District may be affected by a potential change in King County land use policy. The King County Growth Management Planning Council (GMPC) is reviewing a set of framework policies that guide the growth management plan for each jurisdiction within King County. The GMPC currently is considering changing those policies in ways that could cost school districts and taxpayers millions of dollars. The LWSD owns rural land in Redmond Ridge and other areas, and will not be able to use it if the proposed changes take effect. For further information, visit the website.

Legislative Assembly Meeting

The Legislative Assembly will be meeting on Friday, 10/14 and Saturday, 10/15 at the SeaTac Marriott Hotel. Join your Washington State PTA for the premier advocacy and legislation training and planning event of the year! Local units and councils send delegates to our Legislative Assembly to develop our statewide legislative platform and to learn how to effectively advocate for children at all levels. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! For more information, visit the website

The Lake Washington Schools Foundation was started seven years ago by a group of education-minded community members who wanted to support local schools. It's mission is to raise money to support academic excellence and success for all students in the Lake Washington School District. The efforts of the Foundation are district-wide and seek to address some of the programs that have been diminished or eliminated by lack of funds.
