Summer Slowly Fades Away!!

For most of us it has been a long summer of fruitful ministry! Camps, day camp, VBS, special events, missions trips and activities geared to summer ministry are now ending and fall looms before us with its Sunday School, Kid's Church, Kid's Clubs and Holiday events! I hope you are able to grab a little rest between the two seasons! We need refreshing on a regular basis to prepare for all God is leading us into! Remember even Jesus took time to get away from the crowds and connect with His heavenly father! Here at AMF Kids we value our rest as well as our busyness! Here are some things that might interest you as you rest and prepare for fall.

Training Materials!

Training is a big part of fall ministry as you prepare your volunteers and paid staff for your upcoming ministry events. Here are two great resources that I think many people are not aware of but should check out! www.bcmintl.com is the web home of Bible Centered Ministries International. Bible Centered Ministries International is a global non-denominational ministry dedicated to Reaching Children and Developing Churches worldwide. They also produce some awesome training resources.

One of their resources, "Sharing Christ with Kids" is a 4 hour training seminar to help your workers feel confident in their abilities to share the gospel with kids. This project was done by BCM in partnership with the Rorheim institute and AWANA. I have taught this course and found it very well put together and Biblically sound. I think you will find it a little different from the usual evangelism training that is normally offered to those who desire to reach kids for Christ.

The second resource is called "In Step with the Master Teacher". In Step with the Master Teacher is a discipleship-based, ready-to-use tool to help you train your teachers to make disciples. After a long summer of ministry with a lot of fruit in the area of evangelism I am always looking for good material not only for kids but for my volunteers who will be guiding children in discipleship. This course provides 22 session and everything you need to present them.

Special Event Training

If you use creative ministry (drama, puppets, illusions, balloon animals etc.) in your ministry you might want to check out the upcoming One Ways Street puppet festivals being held in the months of September, October and November in a city near you! These Friday night and all day Saturday festivals offer a variety of seminars on many aspects of creative ministry as well as opportunities for your ministry team to present their stuff and have a team of qualified judges give them some feedback!

We've attended and taught at many of these festivals and have used them as a way to encourage our puppet team to grow in their ministry capabilities. It is nice to have someone else support and confirm what you have been telling your team all year!

Hosting special events

Back to school kick off events are popular in kid's ministry. There are also upcoming holidays which provide great opportunities for doing something BIG! If you are looking for a special guest to headline at an upcoming ministry event may I suggest the following as possibilities?
