The meaning of fourth of July is the day of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776... Officially known as Independence Day.

At Southwest Louisiana Credit Union we cherish the freedoms that our flag represents and the sacrifices that our military heroes and their families have made. For that reason we would like to ask that, as you begin your Fourth of July celebrations, you take a moment to remember our veterans, active military personal and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The preservation of this special day would not be possible without them!!

At our main office in Lake Charles, we have two designated areas in the Credit Union dedicated to our Military. If you know of someone who has served our country or is currently serving our country and you would like to recognize their service, please contact Christy Moore at 477-9190.

Sulphur City Hall

The City of Sulphur currently employs 255 dedicated employees including various departments such as Finance, Public Works, Police, Fire, Administration, City Court, Marshal's Office, City Court and City Council.

I completed my first year in office in April, and have been very busy learning the aspects of the Executive Branch of our government. I had previously served 6 years on the Sulphur City Council.

We are so proud of the opening of the West Calcasieu Business Center. This facility (which was formerly Sulphur City Hall) houses the offices of the West Calcasieu Association of Commerce, Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court and Registrar of Voters. Plans are in the works to entice other governmental agencies to open offices in the business center to accommodate the residents of not only West Calcasieu Parish, but the entire Parish.

If you haven't noticed, there is a lot going on in Sulphur and I am so honored to play a small part in it. I thank our dedicated City employees and the citizens for their support as we work together to make our City the best that it can be.

On behalf of the 255 employees of the City, we are thankful for the opportunity to be a member of the Southwest Louisiana Credit Union and appreciate the many services it offers to our employees and their families.
