If your business shuts down for any reason, how many days can you survive? Regardless of the size of the organization, every business should have a business continuity plan. Your plan should document contact information for key personnel as well as important vendors and customers. The plan should list a meeting place in the event that your facilities are damaged or destroyed. Every plan is different based on the needs of the individual organization. If you need help developing your business continuity plan there is a wonderful resource right here in the Lake Area.

If you were in business in 2008 and impacted by Hurricanes Gustav or Ike, you are now able to take advantage of Business Continuity Planning services available through the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at no cost.

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA CENTRAL TRADES AND LABOR COUNCIL 

The Southwest Louisiana Central Trades and Labor Council, AFL-CIO is the local federation of labor representing over 13,000 members of 30 unions throughout Southwest Louisiana.

The mission of the Southwest Louisiana Central Trades and Labor Council, AFL-CIO is to improve the lives of working families-to bring economic justice to the workplace and social justice to our region, our state, and the nation. To accomplish this mission, we work to:

• Build a broad movement of Louisiana workers by helping workers join and form unions.
• Support Louisiana workers as they bargain with employers to improve their living conditions and workplaces, as well as their communities, state and nation.
• Strengthen the voice of Louisiana working families at all levels of government and in a changing global economy.
