LOTS OF LOVE...
a Potluck for LWR!
February 13, 4:30-6:30pm
Join us for a Valentine's Eve Potluck, learn about the meaning of heart in scripture and around the world as we assemble healthcare kits and baby layettes for Lutheran World Relief on Valentine's Eve... with the families of the Sunday School! Food items for the potluck should have a Valentine's theme and either include RED or be shaped like a heart (for example lasagna, chili, strawberry salad, heart shaped biscuits! ). Be creative, have fun and sign-up in the Narthex starting this Sunday! All are welcome and needed. This is an encore event to our successful Haitian dinner and Chili Cook-off where we shared fellowship and packed over 350 kits! We'll also have Valentine's treats for sale to raise funds to assist with the shipping of the healthcare kits. We look forward to seeing you there!

Malaria Nets You may have noticed the Malaria Net display in the Commons. Malaria is a major concern in many parts of the world and the ELCA and Lutheran World Relief are promoting the sale of malaria nets to save the lives of people. Ten dollars will buy a net and get it where it is needed. A member of our church has offered to match the gifts so you will get two for the price of one! The display will be up again on February 13 when we are having a special Lutheran World Relief kit packing event. Consider the special way to save lives. Malaria nets will be displayed on our LWR kit packing day the 13th. A member of our church has agreed to match any gift of $10 given for a malaria net. Imagine, you'll get two for the price of one! |

Good News for Grace Upon Grace
The Neeb Family Foundation has offered St. Mark's a generous Challenge Grant for 2011. They have agreed to match up to $25,000.00 in new funds given, promised or pledged to Grace Upon Grace after February 1, 2011 and before December 31, 2011 and we are most grateful for their support. If you have not made a pledge yet to help us meet and exceed our monthly mortgage payments, here's your chance to double your impact! Children's Faith Formation
Sunday school children have been encouraged to participate in bringing LWR health kit items and in putting them together with their families during this Sunday's "Lots of Love" Valentine's Potluck. Many children and families helped with last year's health kit collections and found it a wonderful opportunity for family service. Plan to come Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. and help show "lots of love" for people in need around the world. Come early and help with setup if you can!

SR ALYVE (9-12th grade)
- Sunday School 9:45 a.m. in the Fireside Room.
- Youth Group Wednesday, February 23rd 6-7:15 p.m. in the Youth Wing with Matt and Courtney Taylor. Dinner is available beginning at 5:15 p.m. in the Narthex.
- A day in the Mountains...Snowboarding or Skiing-Saturday, February 19th
o Be at the church at 7:00 a.m. if you signed up attend.
o Bring $$ for lift ticket, release/permission slips, sack lunch and/or $$ for lunch. Snacks will be provided.
o We will return by 6:30 p.m.
- Holden Youth Weekend-May 21-23rd (Saturday to Monday). Cost: $160.00 per person (includes boat ride, lodging and meals). Scholarships are available. Sign up by March 6th if you plan on attending with a $50.00 deposit.
JR ALYVE (6-8th grade)
- 6th grade Sunday School-3rd Article of the Apostle's Creed 9:45 a.m.
- Confirmation-Overview of the New Testament Scriptures.
- Youth Group-Wednesday, February 16th. Wheelz Skate Arena. Cost: $4.00 per person ($1.00-if you bring your own skates). 5:45-7:30 p.m. Sign up on the Youth Board by Feb. 13th if you plan on attending-we don't want to leave without you.
- Middle School Youth Gathering--Black Lake Bible Camp March 4-6th. Cost: $125.00 per person. Sign up on the Youth board by Feb. 20th a $50.00 deposit is requested at this time. Scholarship funds are available.
- Montana Mission Trip-July 22-29th. Applications are available on the Youth Board. Deposit and applications are due February 13th. Next meeting-March 13th 12:15 p.m. in the Youth Room.

Parish Nursing
Recruiting Nurses:
Are there nurses at St. Mark's that would like to help with the Parish Nurse Ministry? Possibilities are available for nurses to help with Blood Pressure Screening one Sunday a month, writing articles for the Bridge E-Newsletters, substituting during office hours on Thursday mornings, being available to visit members in the hospital or home, consult with members about their diagnosis or medications, support group leaders, Adult Forum presenters, and much more. If you are available and interested, please contact Ruth Saathoff at ruthsaathoff@clearwire.net or 253-851-1584. The current Parish Nurses would love to involve more nurses in our ministry.
