Semi-Annual Congregational Meeting
Please join us at the Semi-Annual Meeting of the congregation on Sunday, January 30 at 12:15 p.m. in the Parish Commons. A light lunch will be served. Childcare will also be available along with guided activities for older children. At this very important meeting we will be making plans for ministsry in 2011, including the adoption of a budget that reflects our key values and mission goals. Come to meet your elected leaders, to hear information and join in conversation about mission and ministry at St. Mark's in 2011. Copies of the proposed 2011 budget will be distributed and discussed in preparation for the semi-annual meeting the following week.

Infant supplies needed
Two families from our St. Mark's community are in need of furniture and supplies for newborns. There is a need for two cribs and for newborn diapers, a changing pad (for changing table), bouncer/swing, clothing (3 months), play mat or play yard and a car seat.
If you are able to supply any item from this list, please contact Jan Pence in the Church Office. She will put you in direct contact with the families so arrangements can be made. Thank you.

Calling all fans of St. Mark's! The Stewardship Ministry Team is forming a Fundraising sub-committee to explore additional opportunities to generate income in 2011 to reduce our building debt. 2011 Mexico Mission Trip
This year's mission trip to Mexico for the purpose of building homes for needy families and building relationships with the people of Mexico will take place on June 17-24. This is for people High School age or older who are looking for an opportunity to grow in faith through service in a cross-cultural environment. Participants pay for their own transportation, food, and lodging (about $400-$450) and some scholarship money is available for those with limited resources. This will be the tenth anniversary of our first mission trip in 2001. Since that time, we have built forty small homes and we have developed strong and lasting relationships with people in the community of El Florido and, in particular, at El Redentor Lutheran Church. All those who would like to learn more about this opportunity to serve are invited to come to a special Mexico Mission Information Session on Thursday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m.

SR ALYVE (9-12th grade)
- Sunday School meets Sun. Jan. 23rd 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Youth Room. (NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION)
- Breakfast Club-Sun. Jan. 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Youth Room. Join us for food and conversation. (NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION)
- Youth Group resumes Wednesday, January 26th 6-7:15 p.m. in the Youth Wing with Matt and Courtney Taylor.
- A day in the Mountains...Snowboarding or Skiing Saturday, February 19th. Exact times TBA. Check out http://www.summitatsnoqualmie.com/ for rental fees and ticket prices.
JR ALYVE (6-8th grade)
- Sunday School and Confirmation meets from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Youth Wing.
- Ice Skating-Friday, January 28th 6:45-10:00 p.m. Cost: $10.00 per person. Sign up on the Youth Board by Sun. Jan. 23rd. if you are attending.

| Sounds of Brass Concert - Sunday, January 23, 2011, 3:00pm in the St.Mark's Sanctuary. All are invited to hear Brass Unlimited and friends in concert, featuring French horn soloist, Danielle Lemieux. Admission is free--freewill donations will be accepted (part of proceeds will go towards St. Mark's Music Ministry for youth). Concert will include works by Gliere, Brahms, Cui and more. All are welcome. |
Love for Lutheran World Relief --
Save the date -- February 13, 2011 (4:00pm)... we will be assembling health kits and layettes for LWR (and sharing a potluck dinner). Please start collecting items for the kits (a list is posted on the bulletin board near the office). More details to come!
