Butler Winery's Brew Supply
Annual Spring Brewing & Winemaking Supply Sale
April 2010
Greetings!

If you are thinking about making some beer or wine, or maybe getting some new equipment for said batch of beer or wine, you might want to stop in soon for our Spring Brewing & Winemaking Supply Sale! It's going on now through next Friday, May 7th. Read the short & sweet details on the sale below. (Saturday May 1st also happens to be National Homebrew Day, so how very appropriate that we are selling supplies at a discount!
Details, Details

(Thankfully there are not very many details, but the few we have, well, they are important, so listen up:)
All brewing & winemaking supplies will be 15% off, with the exception of the following:

  • Glass items (carboys, bottles) - 10% off, unless you buy 6 or more cases of new bottles or 6 or more carboys, then you will get 15% off your purchase.
  • Dried & Liquid Malt Extracts - 10 % off, unless you buy a 6+ quantity of any mix of style, size or type of extract, then you will receive 15% off.
  • Grain - bulk grain purchases, 50 or 55 pound bags will be 20% off.
  • Any other exceptions I may have overlooked & then later realize were fairly important. Especially those that would make me want to kick myself for not including them in this list.
  • One last detail: The sale applies to any instock our out of stock item. This means, if we have it, you can buy it at the discount during the sale & take it home that day but if we don't have the item in stock, you can buy it at the discounted price during the sale & we will order it in for you.

Hop Rhizomes!
~Still Available~

Hop Rhizome! We've sold out of our first round of rhizomes. Are you by chance interested in growing your own hops?

I just found out I can get more hop roots. The remaining best available varieties are Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Hallertau, Tettnanger & Fuggle. Let me know if you want any by the end of day Friday, yes, that's tomorrow!

As before, rhizomes will be $5 per root & will include growing instructions upon request. It is suggested that you buy two roots for each variety you're interested in growing, since the rhizomes are not guaranteed. Hops like full sun, well-drained soil & some space... HopUnion suggests to plant same varieties 3 feet apart & different varieties 5 feet apart! So make sure you plan accordingly when plotting out your hop garden.

New Stuff & Gadgets
More stuff you really need!

We've got some new stuff to sell you! If you haven't seen these already, check 'em out the next time you're in!

  • Twisted Mist Kits from Winexpert - I'm only ordering in a few so tell me soon if you're interested & I will try to obtain one for you.   "Twisted Mist" Strawberry Margarita & Mojito flavors! The "Twisted Mist" are limited summer release kits only- so tell me today
  • I forgot to mention it last time, but we now have amber 1/2 gallon growlers - they have a fairly heavy feel to them too, tho I wouldn't necessarily recommend bottling in them, they are nice quality. They're priced at $4.75 each & come in cases of 6, but as always you can buy them individually.
  • Summer Ale is now available (again) from Brewer's Best! This refreshingly crisp paler ale has some nice citrus notes from lemon & orange peel - & it makes me want to go to the beach with my brew. It is one of their best-selling kits, so don't miss out!
  • Well, I know there are other things that should be here, but they are escaping me at this moment, so I will keep you posted as my memory returns ;)
