Last year our FBI CAAA Chapter adopted the 93rd Military Police Battalion at Fort Bliss as part of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Bradley Strong Program. This is a national program developed through the AUSA to assist community businesses and organizations to support the soldiers stationed within their community. This is a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation and help support the service men and women of the 93rd MP Battalion. The 93rd MP Battalion has been serving in Iraq for the last year and are in the process of rotating back to Fort Bliss.
The currently Commander LTC Thomas H. Byrd and Sergeant Major CSM Dawn Rippelmeyer are here now but on leave. We have been working with the Rear Detachment Command element MAJ Winnegan and MSG Pedro Grevara. Commander Byrd will be replaced very soon by LTC Vernon F. Lightern. CSM Rippelmeyer will also be leaving very soon but I do not have the name of his replacement. They are both moving to other assignments. I hope to introduce the new Command Group to you at a Quarterly Meeting very soon.
The majority of the soldiers will be arriving over the next few months. It is always difficult for these fine solders to relocate especially if they are young and with their families. They will be looking for housing, schools for their children, places to shop and trying to find their way around El Paso. We can help them by making ourselves available to answer their questions and maybe show them around.
As the FBI CAAA coordinator for assisting them, I'm asking our members and alumni to help these soldiers and families by providing me with your name and contact information so that I may pass it along to the soldiers and families so that they may contact you and talk to you. It may be as simple as making them feel welcome, providing them some information or showing them around. I'll leave it up to you how involved you want to become with the soldier or family.
Please provide me your name and contact information and weather you specifically want to help either a single soldier (man or woman) or if you would prefer to help a family. Also let me know if you would be willing to help more than one family. I will provide that information to the family and then let you know the name of the person or persons who may be contacting you.
