Please join us in offering JOYOUS THANKSgiving!

In CELEBRATION of LIFE!
"A person's a person no matter how small."

Dr. Seuss, "Horton Hears a Who"

Baby JulianHalcyone
Julian                                         Halcyone

The highlight of the summer was a visit from Melanie and Brian! They traveled all the way from Chicago, Illinois, with little prince, Julian (pictured left), for all of us to meet and see! Julian was the first born baby to our ministry. He was born on March 10th. What a beautiful baby boy, and he stole the show! I had the pleasure of introducing their little prince to the congregation!

The celebration of life continued in the fall! Pictured right is beautiful Halcyone, born to Tom and Stacy Luce on October 14. At 4lbs. 10oz. and 18.5 inches long, Halcyone is Embryo Adoption Service's first-born girl! You can follow her progress at LuceEnds.

We were thrilled to have Tricia Manning-Smith from KING 5 News covering of the event. We had a wonderful service, with many children born as the result of embryo adoption in attendance for everyone to see. Pastor Joe interviewed the proud parents of Julian, which we were pleased to hear what Julian had to "say" about that!

Tracy DeisherDr Theresa Deisher, Ph.D., from AVM Biotechnology, shared her insights and wisdom about embryonic stem cell research (ESCR), and her story of seeing Elisha at a conference. She realized then that ESCR is not only bad science, but ESCR is also morally wrong. Every embryo is a human being, needing only parents, and there are lots of them that are looking for a child to love.

Kristen Waggoner, an attorney with Ellis, Li, and McKinstry, Seattle, provided an update on a case she is representing on behalf of pharmacist's and the right to
conscience. Kristen provided an insightful Kristen Waggonertalk on conscience rights, and the right of a pharmacist to be able to refer elsewhere, those seeking an abortifacient drug; i.e., "Plan B". Her talk pointed out an important fact, "The right of conscience is a fundamental right." She said, if we loose this fight it's the slippery slope for eroding our rights of conscience on a lot of other things we hold dear as Americans.

All very interesting and inspirational to see the value of a human embryo, a little person, to the naked eye, cannot yet even be seen. Pastor Joe quoted Dr. Seuss in Horton Hears a Who, "A person's a person no matter how small", which he added, "That's in the Bible somewhere, if it's not it should be!" After the service we had a fun and tasty brunch reception and all the children had a great time knowing we were celebrating a wonderful "family reunion" of families that all had children born from embryo adoption.

Of course, KING 5 captured it ALL, which you can watch online. If you want to see the entire Sunday Service "Embryo Adoption Sunday" you can view that at vimeo.com/15296717. While you're at it, you may also be interested in KING 5's Jean Enerson's Health Link coverage of our ministry earlier in the summer. All of these are worth watching with your family as a teaching and inspiration on when life really begins.

Julian's smile says it best! God has placed him in the arms of love -- his parents Melanie and Brian -- with a hope and a future! Following years of hard work, prayer, and the grace of God helping us, we were blessed to see this day come to fruition. It was a great day in the Lord! To HIM be the glory!

Happy THANKSgiving to ALL!

Sincerely,

The Lancaster's Embryo Adoption Story
Elisha, Maria, Jeff Lancaster 2009

Elisha, Maria & Jeff Lancaster

Like millions of American families, my husband and I struggled with the pain of infertility. I did manage to get pregnant twice, but both pregnancies ended in miscarriages. Our doctor told us we were "done", mostly because I have crossed over into the "40's". Then by a miracle at 46, I got pregnant. A few weeks later, we lost that child too. We were deeply disappointed, now all hope of ever having children evaporated.

Then one day not long after, my husband heard a radio interview on Dr. James Dobson's show with a woman, Marlene Strege that gave birth to a child, Hannah, by adopting another couples embryos.
