DAI returned as a sponsor and exhibitor to the Training Officers Consortium's (TOC) Annual Institute, and DAI team members attended the three-day training conference held in Ocean City, MD. The conference included skill-building workshops, seminars and an exhibit floor for networking and presentations from vendors. DAI also oversaw the new-member outreach, the new-attendee orientation and the mentor/protégé program, in which new attendees were paired with "veteran" TOC members as mentors. The Training Officers Consortium is a nonprofit organization of federal trainers and other professionals from industry and academia who are interested in contributing to human capital, training knowledge and best practices.

DAI Employees Race for the Cure
DAI participated in the 2012 Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, June 2. It was a beautiful day for the event, and DAI runners and walkers raised $1200 in donations in support of Komen's ongoing goal to "save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures."

The Susan G. Komen organization is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
Congrats to all who took part and many thanks for the donations.

DAI Team Wins Communicator Awards

In May, DAI received two 2012 Silver Awards of Distinction in the Online Video Branded Content-Promotional/Branding and Film/Video-Employee Communications categories for our work producing the Department of Veterans Affair's PIV Card Promotional Video. The video educated employees, contractors and affiliates about the importance of complying with PIV requirements.

The Communicator Awards honors work that transcends innovation and craft, and is the leading international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications. In its eighteenth year, The Communicator is one of the most coveted awards of its kind, with more than 6,000 entries. Congratulations to DAI's communications practice team members!

Wounded Warriors Event a Huge Success

Approximately 20,000 people attended the Memorial Day Festival Honoring Wounded Warriors held on Sunday, May 27, at Great Meadow in Plains, VA. The event paid tribute to our nation's wounded warriors and the $50,000 raised will be dispersed to a number of wounded warrior organizations. An estimated 500 wounded warriors from across the country attended the festival.
Scenes from the DAI tent!
DAI was proud to host a tent and welcomed employees, partners, clients and friends for this important event. The DAI tent looked out over the impressive backdrop of Great Meadow and was well-positioned to view all the activity on the entertainment stage. Entertainment throughout the day featured bands, musicians from numerous symphonies and choruses, an air show with paratroopers, and a new and classic car show. The event was organized by Beethoven Found.
