FAQs
Q: Can I give my child's teacher a gift for the holidays?

A: Sure! Teachers love gifts! Some class parents do a class-wide collection for a gift. In other classes small groups of families go in together, some families go it alone, and some just say, "Enjoy your time away from us!" Whatever you do, know that our teachers are grateful...but that it won't change your grades!

Check out our new FAQs section on the website for more as the year goes on. Send any questions to  Ask Chester and we'll answer them here and/or on the website.

Track Renovations Update
The PTA's plan to improve the Chesterbrook ES track has moved along smoothly and expediently. Michelle Joss and her committee have worked hard and done a terrific job, and we are ready to move forward with the work. Because the work is a substantial cost ($6,500), we need general membership approval to amend our budget. We will hold the general membership vote on Wednesday evening at 7 pm at the opening of the choir/strings concert. You can review the budget amendment here.

We are applying for a grant which may help to pay for a portion of the track. If the grant is awarded to us, it will decrease the project cost. Work cannot be started on the project until the outcome of the grant is known. Once that is determined in early February, the work order will be submitted and the project initiated.

If you have any questions, please send them prior to Wednesday evening to the Track Committee.

Family Directory
2011-2012 directory coverDon't forget that the school has made a PDF of the recently completed Family Directory available online through Blackboard. Here's how to access it:
  • Login using your Parent View account or your child's account.
  • Click on (one of) the student name(s). If you are using your student's account, you will skip this.
  • Click on "Chesterbrook Specialists," not the student's grade level.
  • You'll find the Family Directory under "Parent Resources" at the bottom of the lefthand menu. We plan to update this periodically, so if you find something in error (sorry!), contact the Directory Committee
 REACH
REACH (Resource Enrichment at Chesterbrook) has been extended from 20 minute to 30 minute blocks this school year. REACH (available for grades 1-6) has added some new opportunities like working in the gardens to enrich our students' environmental awareness. Due to extended time and more activities, REACH is looking for parent volunteers. If interested, please contact Bethany Brooks, the in-school coordinator, or your Homeroom teacher.
