Volunteer for School Kit and Back-to-School-Folder Assembly
Back-to-school folders - It's easy, we'll make it fun, and it's a great way to get the new school year rolling! We're hoping for 10-12 parents and a few middle school students seeking volunteer hours. We'll gather in the cafeteria Wednesday evening, August 31st from 5-8pm. If you have questions, contact Melissa Abelev at melissa.abelev@gmail.com or 202-670-6248. To sign up please go to www.signupgenius.com/go/assembling1 (or email Melissa directly).
School Supply Kits - Equally Fun! We will gather in the cafeteria, Tuesday, August 30th, 9am to 3pm. If you have questions, contact Eleanor Gollob at eleanorg2005@cox.net. To sign up please go to www.SignUpGenius.com/go/school121. |
Join PTA
Did you know you can join the PTA online? Go to the PTA website to pay your dues (you can do this in the same order as when you buy school supply kits). Why? Members get a free Family Directory (nonmember price is $8) and are already supporting our many enrichment programs the PTA delivers! Last year we achieved 100% percent membership -- let's try to match it.

Volunteer for a PTA Leadership Position
Are you interested in getting more involved in school and PTA activities? The PTA needs your help in the coming year! Running a committee is a terrific way to learn more about what's going on at school and meet other parents. We have some critical jobs to fill. Please see our website for a list of the openings. For more information, please contact Beth Mahood so you can get connected to the right opportunity. In your Back to School Folder (distributed at Open House or on the first day of school) you'll find a Volunteer Opportunities form where you can indicate where else you'd like to help, even if you aren't chairing a committee. There's something for everyone and every schedule! |
