Parent Advocacy Groups Forming
Fairfax FLAGS (Foreign Language Advocacy for Grade Schools) is a united group of community members working to preserve the high-quality of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) and Fairfax County.

From the FACE website:

VERY SERIOUS FCPS BUDGET SITUATION...
It has become widely circulated, now, that the FCPS Elementary Band and String programs were named in a Strawman Poll as possible cuts to this year's FCPS budget. This cut would entirely eliminate the elementary band and strings programs, and consequently would destroy band and strings on all levels in Fairfax County. THE IMPACT OF A CUT OF THIS MAGNITUDE WOULD AFFECT ALL FINE ARTS PROGRAMS ON ALL LEVELS. We are determined to keep ALL FCPS programs for students intact. Please help!
