Help Maine Clean Communities Find A Motivated College Senior or Graduate Student Intern!
Maine Clean Communities was just awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Energy for a year-long student intern to assist with Maine Clean Communities' projects and events.
Clean Cities University Workforce Development internships will total 30 weeks and will begin approximately September 4, 2012 and conclude April 26, 2013. A stipend will be offered in the amount $4,150 for a graduate level student and $3,520 for a senior undergraduate student for 15-hours of work a week.
The internship application process is from July 9-July 27 and the interview process will be August 6-August 22.

Maine Movie Premiere of "Revenge of the
Electric Car" Was a Success! The May 22nd Electric Vehicle (EV) display and premiere of the film "Revenge of the Electric Car" at One Longfellow Square in Portland was a success!

Several EVs and Plug-In Electric Hybrid Vehicles were on display, two EV charging units and we showed the inspiring film that confirms that EVs are here to stay!

Granite State Clean Cities' Quarterly Stakeholder Meeting will be held on October 5, 2012, 9:00-11:30 a.m. in Concord, NH. Curious about heavy duty alternative fuel vehicles? Alternative Fuel Vehicle Odyssey Day 2012
October 19 & 20 at SMCC
Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Odyssey Day will build awareness and enthusiasm for alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, showcasing a wide range of technologies and fuels, including electric, propane, natural gas, biodiesel, hybrids, and idle reduction.

Maine Clean Communities and Southern Maine Community College's (SMCC) Transportation Technology Department are teaming up again to offer "Odyssey Day" in South Portland on Friday October 19, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 20th from 10:00-3:00 p.m. at SMCC. (In case of bad weather the event will be held inside.)
Numerous alternative fuel vehicles, along with displays and exhibitors of fuel reduction techniques, speakers and experts will be on hand to promote the newest in alternative fuel vehicles and technologies.
