"How is W. Brown doing this year?"

During our 2011 agency marketing visits, this question seemed to pop up more frequently than any other. Well, we're doing pretty darn good! Like a long suffering patient, we've weathered the worst, and have begun recovering nicely.

Highlights of 2011 at W. Brown

Our premium volume increased by 5.5% - the first increase we've had since I had hair on the top of my head (but hey - it's a good look on me). Professional Liability, Personal Lines and Garage Liability showed the most growth.

We completed the purchase of Vulcan E&S, and Brad, Gina and Linda are doing a great job writing business for us. The Vulcan purchase also provided us with a new binding contract with Northfield Insurance Company.

We added several new brokerage markets, allowing us to provide a greater array professional, GL, excess, property and pollution markets to better serve you in 2012.

Ken Young and Jeff English completed several CIC courses, so they will be even smarter in 2012.

We had one baby born and one daughter announce a 2012 wedding! There are also, apparently a few new boyfriends, but I don't know the specifics on those.

And with the continued support of our loyal clients, producers and business partners, we were able to complete our 23rd year in business. We value each relationship and friendship, and hope to develop them further in 2012.
