Labor Day Poem 2011

by John Krebs
(We're closing at 12 on Friday
)

Don't say that it's over

It's just now begun

Another summer that promised

Relaxation and fun

I'm so close on my diet

To look bathing suit svelte

Just one month away

From another notch on my belt

Just 30 more days

That's all I need to look great

Before the holiday meals

Pile food on my plate

At least the young boys of summer

Are the Little League kings

That's a reason to party

And enjoy what life brings

So close out this summer

Away from the "Man"

It's a weekend for workers

To do the least that they can

So junk all those diets

No more celery and dry toast

No earthquakes and storms

Like on the east coast

Have some ice cream and pie

Some guacamole and chips

Cake and some cookies

BBQ some tri-tips

Enjoy family and friends

Befriend a raccoon

On Labor Day Friday

We're closing at noon

Sincerely,
