Labor Day Poem 2010*

(We're closing at 12 on Friday)

Labor Day's coming

Then summer is done?

They have to be kidding

We've just now seen the sun!

My diet's just starting

To get off the ground

More time is still needed

To reduce what is round

I guess there's no harm

In waiting a year

To cut out the pizza

The chips and the beer

I should embrace the last weekend

To relax and enjoy

I've got 12 more months

To look like Brad Pitt in Troy

Join in, one and all

With family and friends

Enjoy food, movies, music

Before summer ends

Hit the beach, or a park

Read that book with a twist

Catch up on some episodes

Of Law and Order you've missed

Hug someone you love

Drink a toast to the moon

On Labor Day Friday

We're closing at noon.
