Conviction, Humility, Knowledge

This video covers a range of thoughts

*  Conviction -- what do you believe in?

*  Humility -- the market doesn't care what you think

*  Knowledge -- If you do action A, is B the outcome?

I hope you click on my video and watch--I try to make it the best 3 to 5 minutes of your week.   Okay, maybe that's stretching it, but worthwhile nonetheless.

Another Troubling Rise in Money Demand?

Money Supply

For years pundits chastised Americans for not saving enough, but in the past few years savings rates have exploded from negative to positive 5%.   An unintended consequence of that plus banks and companies building up their own cash on the balance sheets leads to the "velocity" of money to plummet.

Money needs to change hands in a vibrant society in the fair exchange of goods and services.

Unfortunately, a liquidity trap can occur and may be occuring now that does not bode well for the economy going forward.

Read more about this at the link before.  I'll keep you updated on this too in subsequent newsletters.

Greek Bond Yields Surge
Greece Map

That might sound good, but what it really means is that the prices are plunging.

Stay away from Greece and watch Europe closely.

Dynamic Asset Allocation Coming Soon

GWM jpgWithin the next few weeks  you'll hear more and more about some of the enhanced investment management techniques here at Generosity Wealth Management.

There are different types of investment management  strategies, and it's my goal to have a portfolio of them for my clients.

That's enough of a teaser for now, but more will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.

Know your Shark Risk
Shark attack
I talk about risk all the time, and it's "true" risk that we're always striving to understand, not perceptual risk.

What are your odds of being killed by a shark?

  1. Obesity. Obesity kills 30,000 people every year.
  2. Lightning.Lightning kills 10,000 people every year.
  3. Texting. Texting kills 6,000 people every year.
  4. Hippos. Hippos kill 2,900 people every year.
  5. Airplanes. Airplanes kill 1,200 people every year.
  6. Volcanoes. Volcanoes kill 845 people every year.
  7. Autoerotic asphyxiation. Autoerotic asphyxiation (please don't ask me to tell you what this is) kills 600 people every year.
  8. Shopping. Shopping on Black Friday kills 550 people every year (crazy freaking women).
  9. Falling. Falling out of bed kills 450 people every year.
  10. Bathtubs. Bathtubs kill 340 people every year.

  18. Football. High school football kills 20 people every year.
  19. Vending machines. Vending machines kill 13 people every year. Dead. Serious.
