Greetings!
Should you Freak Out Part 2 Part 1 was 1.5 weeks ago. This is part 2, updated as of Monday morning. It's a particularly long video, but filled with my current thoughts * What does the S&P downgrade mean? * What should you have and not have in your portfolio? * Should you move everything to cash? * Is this emotional selling or fundamental? I'm going to have 2 or 3 videos this week since so much is going on. One of the aspects of my job, in my opinion, is to over communicate with you as the adviser/client relationship is a partnership. | 2011 08 08 - Should you freak out Part 2 |

There are lots of sources of information, some of which are irritatingly inflammatory.
Here are the sites I go to, or more specifically, have set up as RSS feeds into my Google Reader.
I don't agree with them all the time, and as a matter of fact, the same webpage will have articles from different points of view, but if you're looking for an analysis of WHY or WHAT a news event might mean, then here are some of the sources I go to.

Municipals to be Downgraded?
One of the effects of a US Gov't downgrade is a municipal downgrade to follow.
If you've been following my newsletters over the past few years, you know I've advised you to watch your municipal holdings closely if you have any at all.
The free (relatively) capital market ultimately determines the cost municipals will have to pay to borrow money.

75th Anniversary of Big Boy
As a kid I used to love driving by the Big Boy in my hometown of Chesterfield, Michigan. Whenever I travel around the US, there's something about seeing a big statue of Big Boy to make me feel American.
This year is their 75th anniversary and I'd like to salute them for making me feel full and happy when I was a kid. Big Boy turns 75--Link | I think I want this Big Boy Snuggie |
