2010 - The Year to Focus on Sovereign Debt

Dubai in December could be jsut the tip of the iceberg.  There are talks about UK being worse than the Iceland bank crisis.

The most obvious weaknesses in our global system were exposed in 2008 and 2009, but 2010 will expose more.

To do:  Be sure you fully understand the risk in your portfolio.  "X-ray" it so you're prepared if the other shoe drops

 
16 - 19 Year Old Unemployment Rate

16-19 unemploymentWhy am I including a chart on the 16 to 19 year old unemployment rate?  Because these are the workers of the future.  I don't know about you, but I learned a lot from my first job about how to be a productive member of our economy.

What is the effect 5 and 10 years from now of a large, unemployed youth population?

 
Estate Tax in 2010

2010 is the year for Estate Tax planning.  What will Congress do?  Good question.  I'll follow up in the next couple of weeks with a video on Estate Planning and what you should do. 

In the meantime, here is a good summary of the issues.

Who Mike thinks is cool.....

Last week was my mother's birthday and my father's was a few days ago.  I think they're pretty cool.  Not only did they raise 3 great kids (in my humble opinion), but they did so with selfless love, dedication, and commitment.  That's a true inspiration.

I attribute my integrity and hard work to their example.
