Your Money Matters
March 11 & 15 - Mt. Sinai Community Institute's Young Parents Program, 2653 W. Ogden Ave., Chicago; 5:30pm - 7pm
This four week series will teach participants credit management, money management and tax preparation.
 
Your Money, Your Taxes
March 13 & 27 - Homan Square Community Center's Free Tax Site, 3517 W. Arthington, Chicago; 10am - 11:30am 
In partnership with the Center for Economic Progress, this program will give participants valuable information on their tax returns, the W4 and the importance of saving a portion of their tax return.

This workshop is an open forum that will provide you with the opportunity to ask everything you ever wanted to know about taxes for your business.  It will feature a panel of experts to answer your questions.

The Home-Based Business  
March 24 - Extension Office, 5527 Miller Circle Dr., Matteson; 6pm - 8pm 
                                                                                    
If you own, or want to own a home-based business, this workshop is for you. Topics include how to decide if a home-based business is for you, avoiding "work at home" scams, claiming tax deductions for business use of your home, recordkeeping requirements and more. Morgan Wise of the IRS will help you avoid the pitfalls.

Small Business Education in Spanish
Thursday, March 11 - Mount Prospect Community Connections Center, 1711 W. Algonquin Rd., Mount Prospect; 2:30pm - 3:30pm
 
Extension offers small business education classes in Spanish.  This month's program is Federal and State Resources for Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses. April's program will be Introduction to the Basic Components of a Business Plan and the June program is Resources to Write Your Business Plan.

Women's History Month Topic: Economic Growth & Democracy  

Global citizenship program focuses on women's issues around the world 
 
Throughout history, women have fought for and gained empowerment through voting rights, educational access, and economic independence. 
 
At this presentation, you'll learn about the hardships still faced by women today, as well as opportunities they have created in countries such as China, India, Pakistan and Rwanda.
