Last Chance for Supporting Higher Ethanol Blends

We need your help - today! - to help the U.S. ethanol market grow. Please take a few minutes and click on the link below to tell the EPA you support expanding the allowable ethanol blend from 10 percent to 15 percent. This is good for us as corn growers to help ensure that markets we need continue to grow - and it's good for our entire nation's economy, environment and energy security.

Please, act quickly. The deadline for responses is July 20.

Reasons for Optimism on 2009 Crop

With 87 million acres planted in field corn, U.S. farmers are expected to harvest a corn crop this year of 12.3 billion bushels, the second-largest crop on record, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The estimate of 80.1 million acres to be harvested, at 153.4 bushels per acre, means a good supply of corn for all our nation's needs, the National Corn Growers Association said.

Earlier this week, USDA rated 71 percent of the U.S. corn crop in good or excellent condition, compared with 62 percent at the same time last year.
