| Do You Lick Envelopes?
The Cockroach's favorite food is the glue on envelopes!
While you are sleeping, the cockroaches are feeding off your envelopes and leaving diseases, eggs, and waste behind on the glue seal.
CNN reported a case where a lady working for the postal service in California licked the envelope instead of using a sponge and her tongue was cut by the envelope.
Her tongue swelled and became so painful that she couldn't eat. The doctor, not knowing what else to do, had an x-ray of her tongue. A lump was found and had to be removed. The lump was a live cockroach.
The envelope she licked had a cockroach egg and it went into her tongue when it was cut. Due to the saliva and warmth, the egg was able to hatch with time.

| Did Cold Weather Damage Your
Palm Trees?
Do not immediately trim the damaged leaves. As long as ANY green tissue remains, the leaf should not be removed.
Damaged leaves may provide protection during the upcoming cold nights.
Once the plant has 2 or 3 new leaves then the damaged leafs can be removed.
If the trunk has external damage, it is likely there is internal damage and the plant must be removed.
Be patient. It may be 4 to 7 months until the new growth emerges and some may be malformed or damaged. Within a year, normal leaves will emerge.

The Killer Bee
Africanized Honey Bees (AKA Killer Bee) are much more aggressive than most bees.
The Killer Bees attack in large groups and can chase you up to a quarter of a mile.
If you come across a bee hive in your yard, attic, hollow trees, rock formations, crawl space or a wall void in your home, DO NOT try to take care of it on your own without the proper equipment or clothing.

| What to do if Attacked by Killer Bees
Attacks from Killer Bees can cause serious injury or death. Here are some helpful hints if you come across a swarm.
*Do not flap your arms around or make a high pitched sound.
*Run quickly in a straight line and find shelter such as a building or car.
* The bees will target your head and eyes so keep them covered the best you can.
*Don't jump in the water. The Killer Bees will wait for you longer than you can hold your breath.
*If you become trapped in a building or car, call your local Fire Rescue. They may have a foam that can be used in an emergency.
*If you experience an allergic reaction to stings, call 911.

Do not try to remove or destroy a hive  yourself.
Attacks frequently occur when you are mowing the lawn, pruning shrubs, using a weed eater, hedge clipper or chain saw.
