Greetings!

Happy Fall!

In case you missed the fun, here are some

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ANNUAL MEETING

I.    PLAYGROUND --

Jake Barry, a Falmouth High School sophomore, requested donations to revamp the 3 rusty swings at the West Falmouth Ball Field into a more updated, fun and useable playground.  The idea is to hire a playground building company to make a model for community review and then to enlist the West Falmouth community in the hands-on build.  A good deal of money is needed even though the space is not as big as other town playgrounds since building codes require, among other things, child safe materials and special needs compliance.  One estimate we have obtained is from Leathers Associates which helped to build the Mullen Hall Playground at a minimum of $50,000 for building with volunteers.  Ongoing playground maintenance funds will also likely be required by the Town of Falmouth.  The project can only get started with your generosity.

If you are interested in donating, please make your check payable to Together We Can.  It is very important that you write West Falmouth Playground on the memo of your check.  Jake will send you an acknowledgment for your records and donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent of the law.    Checks should be sent directly to Sandy Cuny, Treasurer of Together We Can, at:

      Together We Can
      87 Lucerne Ave
      Falmouth, MA 02540.

Also, if you'd like to host a benefit or volunteer at one of the fund raising events, please send a note with your contact information to Jake Barry, PO 1334, West Falmouth, MA  02574.  Thanks for helping to make a better community.

II.    MARY PAT FLYNN

Selectman Flynn joined the West Falmouth Village Association and was the featured speaker for the night.  She provided an informative update on several subjects.

Many folks voiced concerns and some expressed frustration about the the direction the Town is taking on numerous issues, including wind and clean water, which were hot topics.  The Community Action Committees of the Village Association Board need folks who want to make a difference.  What a productive way for the Town to benefit from your opinions and knowledge!
