Greetings!
We are up and running with our new Web Site and hope that you will visit the site early and often to keep up with all the village happenings. The email newsletter you are receiving will be our primary way of communicating with you. We look forward to your comments and input. |
Bike Path Updates
The bike path is nearly completed and ahead of schedule! Final paving and landscaping should be completed by mid May.If you haven't had a chance to use the path, you will be very impressed. |
Old Dock Rd. Parking Issues With the development of the new bike path, we have also seen a dramatic increase in the use of the parking lot. This has become an issue as the bike path has diminished the size of the parking lot. The anticipated competition for space between bikers and boaters has prompted the Village Association to meet with town officials to try and resolve parking patterns and safety issues.
We expect a resolution to the issue soon and hope to have a positive update.

Old Dock Rd. Paving An update from the Town Engineering Dept. indicates that the road will not be re-paved until the Fall of 2009 due to changes in the regulations for the storm water run off. The project will include redesigning the catch basins and resurfacing the town dock. This will help eliminate a number of the large puddle issues and the harbor contamination from road run off.
|
Chapoquoit Bridge The bridge is being advertised for bid in August with construction beginning in Feb/Mar 2010.The construction will last through the summer months with completion expected in Nov. The bridge weight capacity was recently downgraded as a result of the most recent inspection.
The new bridge will include larger side walks as well as increased width for traffic.
|
The Ideal Spot The motel is slatted for demolition and should be removed by the end of April.A new 6 unit condominium will be erected in its place. Steve Haddad, the developer, has donated a significant amount of furniture to the Emerson House and has allowed the Falmouth Fire and Police Depts. to use the structures for training.
The project has secured all permits and construction should be forthcoming. |
