GIVE THE GIFT OF THE ENVIRONMENT
Every year, our festive celebrations create unnecessary garbage. It is estimated that Canadians generate approximately 300,000 tonnes of garbage each year from Christmas ribbons, wrapping paper, gift cards, packaging etc. This year, while you wrap your gifts and trim your tree, make an extra effort to trim your waste as well

O'CHRISTMAS  TREE O'CHRISTMAS TREE! HOW CAN I RECYCLE THEE?
Don't throw your Christmas tree away after the holiday season. Recycle it!!!!

Trees will be collected as garbage if they are set out at the curb.

Before bringing your tree to a depot, Londoners are asked to:
  • Remove all decorations, including tinsel and garland, as these materials present a safety hazard for staff operating the chipping machines
  • If disposing of other holiday evergreens (cedar rope, wreaths, etc.) ensure that all metal and other materials are removed
  • At the depot, please remove plastic bags used to transport the tree and take them home to dispose of or reuse

PLEASE REMOVE ALL METAL. Metal presents a safety hazard to staff operating chipping equipment, can result in damage to equipment and cannot be composted.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

CACHETREID HERITAGE HOMES proudly promotes Environmental Stewardship in partnership with TRY Recycling.

From Left to Right: Kristine Jones (TRY Recycling), Alan Churchill (Vice President CACHETREID.)

Potential buyers continue to find out just who "Tidied Up" at CACHETREID HERITAGE HOMES sites and the numbers are climbing.  The prominently placed signage has been updated to reflect the new name and logo but the commitment to the environment remains strong. The stats outlining the success of the construction waste recycling program are not only posted at each development site, but the information is available in the company's brochures.  New home buyers are looking for builders who can demonstrate how they are making good environmental choices in energy efficiency and the total home construction process.  TRY is pleased to be part of this consumer education campaign.
