Greetings!
"And Mary said, I'm bursting with God-news; I'm dancing the song of my Savior God. God took one good look at me, and look what happened- I'm the most fortunate woman on earth! What God has done for me will never be forgotten, the God whose very name is holy, set apart from all others. His mercy flows in wave after wave on those who are in awe before him. He bared his arm and showed his strength, scattered the bluffing braggarts. He knocked tyrants off their high horses, pulled victims out of the mud. The starving poor sat down to a banquet; the callous rich were left out in the cold. He embraced his chosen child, Israel; he remembered and piled on the mercies, piled them high. It's exactly what he promised, beginning with Abraham and right up to now." Luke 1:45-55, The Message
Blessings to you in this time of advent, this time of anticipation and waiting. What is God stirring in you this season?
In Christ, Sarah Hausken, SW MN Synod Youth Ministry Coordinator

Jr. High Youth Gathering Recap
Jr. High youth and adults proved hungry for the word of God and hungry to serve. Noember 19-20 and 20-21 over 1,300 youth and adults gathered in Willmar to, as Christian rapper Agape's song goes, "Get Praise-y." The theme was "Are You Hungry?" focusing on Matthew 25:10. Gathering Chaplain Pastor Christian Muellerleile taught the group a blues/rock song he wrote based on Matthew 25:10 and Agape le d everyone in rap music and hip hop dancing. Agape's message cuts through our differences and reminds us that God's love is greater than anything. God's love feeds us so we can tend to the hunger of others. This year the synod Lutheran Youth Organization partnered with ELCA World Hunger to lift up and fight physical hunger around the corner and around the world. Gathering participants raised over $2,846 for relief, education, advocacy and development through ELCA World Hunger. God was definitely active at the gathering and sent participants out fed and inspired to serve. Thanks to everyone who participated in the gathering!

Faith Fest at Augustana College
February 18-19, 2011 Augustana invites confirmation-aged youth and their adult leaders to Faith Fest 2011. You'll enjoy music and worship, games and Bible study, service and fellowship. "Shine" is inspired by Matthew 5:14-16, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a l amp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Agape (David Scherer) returns to Faith Fest with his hip hop presentation of the Gospel for a Friday evening concert. On Saturday morning, participants will pack food at Kids Against Hunger Sioux Falls (KAH). KAH delivers meals locally through food distribution sites, The Back Pack Program, and Lutheran Social Services Refugee Resettlement Program. Food packages are delivered to Native American reservations in South Dakota and to developing countries like Haiti.
Cost: $65 per person includes three meals, a Faith Fest gift, lodging at the Elmen Center on campus, and all program costs for the event.
