127 N. Bellevue Avenue John and Pat Linton

You toured the inside of this beautifully restored Victorian home on the Holiday House Tour. Now enjoy its well-tended gardens. Photographer Gina Waltersdorff will display her collages of "Doors of Langhorne," as well as still life photos of antique perfume bottles and tea cups. And she has some new treasures, too! Neshaminy music teachers Kim and Karl Krelove will join garden owner John Linton to form of unique trio of viola, clarinet and bassoon.

452 W. Maple Avenue Middletown Friends Meetinghouse
Garden Tourists can approach this beautiful old building from Maple Avenue, or they can wander a secret path from the Langhorne Heritage Farm through the cool woods and the Friends' cemetery. This inside of this historic Meetinghouse will feature a "Quakers in Cuba" exhibit of photographs taken by professional photographer David DiMicco of a recent George School mission trip. Outside, watercolor artist Joanna Krasnansky will display her paintings of historic Langhorne and surrounding communities. Music will be provided by Neshaminy student Rachel Jones on her cello. Rachel was awarded a scholarship from Langhorne Council for the Arts in 2009.

404 Station Avenue Steve Runk and Ken Eiker

Beyond this lush front lawn and stately stone home are an inviting patio and fish pond. From there, paths lead Garden Tourists on a meandering walk through cultivated and woodsy beds of flowers and shade-loving plants. Soothing harp music by Mary Bryson will give an otherworldly feeling to this garden. Artist Ted LaPlante will set up his easel and a display of his oil paintings. The paintings of Mary Bryson will also be on display.

128 E. Maple Avenue Michael and Nina Wommack
You'll be amazed and delighted by the lush gardens and beautiful ponds of this lovely property -- a secret garden in the heart of town! The gardens and paths connect two artists' studios. Michael Wommack's vivid pastels depict dreamlike impressions of his youth in Levittown, and are known and prized across the country. Nina Wommack's detailed tiles and other ceramics of leaves, flowers, and insects reflect her training in the natural sciences and horticulture.

134 W. Maple Avenue Pauline and Patrick Boyle
This beautifully restored stone and clapboard Victorian invites Garden Tourists to sit a spell on its wide, shady porch. The theme of the gardens at this home reflect the occupation of the owner; Pat is a deck captain on a dredge, and the gardens are dotted with old anchors and other nautical artifacts that he's salvaged over the years. A new acquisition that will surely attract attention is a 1957 wooden Chris-Craft boat. Artist Craig Hackett will display his beautiful paintings of Bucks County buildings and scenes in one area of this large property. Recent PAFA grads Colleen Boyle and Adam Jones will display their paintings, sculpture, and fabric art. Folk music will be performed by singer/guitarist Carol Deaver. |
146 N. Green Street Marcia and Richard Tyrrell

Until recent years this property was continually owned by one family, passed down from one generation to the next for "$1 and love." The present owners lovingly maintain the house and gardens, adding perennials, birdhouses, and other personal touches to the two-tiered property. Described as a "hidden oasis," the showpiece of this garden is the cool free-form pool and hot-tub with a small waterfall. Artist Joan Feiss will display her paintings near the inviting hammock, while artist and musician Helen Bottel displays her artwork and performs on the violin.
|
404 Hulmeville Avenue Patricia and David Silcox

You'll walk a tree-lined street to get to this lovely home. Sun and shade combine in this large yard which features bordered country gardens, a cool gazebo, patio and fish pond beside the clapboard house and a vegetable garden in the rear. Oil painter Flo Schadler will find plenty of inspiration in this garden, while artist and musician Carole Vaughn provides background music on her accordion.

222 N. Green Street Langhorne Heritage Farm (Langhorne Open Space, Inc.)
A community treasure, Langhorne Heritage Farm is the home to the Artists-at-the-Farm. Outbuildings, once used as calving barns, bull pens, cow sheds, and chicken coops, have been converted to artists' studios. In this unique, bucolic setting, artists find peace and inspiration. This year, the studios of Sharon Spraw, Justin & Danielle Bursk, Nicky Dalbenzio, Diane Wilkin, and Kris Troxell will be open for tour. After Tourists meet the artists and explore the Butterfly, Community, and Bullpen Meditation Gardens on the Farm, they are invited to sit and enjoy the lovely handbell music of Rise Kagan. What a wonderful way to start and end the 2010 Arts in the Garden Tour!
