Community Quilt Show was Warmly Received

BRRRRR!!!  Winter is definitely here, but we know that many talented folks in our area are keeping cozy and warm in style.  On November 21, LCA hosted its first Community Quilt Show, featuring 64 gorgeous quilts and wall hangings of every color, size, and pattern.  Obviously, this creative and functional art form is alive and well in Langhorne!  Along with the new and heirloom quilts that were hung and draped around St. James Church hall were cards containing "the story behind the quilt."  These stories illuminated the motivation, inspiration, and techniques that went into the creation of each quilt.  This greatly added to the appreciation of the work in each quilt, and at least some of our 100+ visitors said they were inspired to go home and start a new project.....or finish one that has been long neglected.  This very cold weather should provide motivation, too!

LCA extends a sincere thanks to:
· all of the quilters who displayed their treasures at the Community Quilt Show
· the quilters who were available during some or all of the quilt show to answer
   questions and share techniques
· St. James Church for allowing us to use their hall for this event
· the volunteers who helped with set-up, greeting, and clean-up
· the 100+ visitors who came to the quilt show, purchased raffle tickets for a quilt
and theme baskets, ad purchased LCA notecards, quilt books, and screensavers.  All proceeds support the LCA Scholarship Fund.
