Greetings!   Cory Andrichuk, President

I was recently asked how entrepreneurs stay focused with the amount of responsibilities they endure on a daily basis.  Every day is a juggling act between today and tomorrow's business.  Successful entrepreneurial juggling is about working IN your business and then ON your business.  The key though, is staying focused on the bigger picture - your business plan.

Staying Focused

If you do not have a business plan that includes a marketing plan with a sales strategy, then it is safe to say you're not even giving yourself a fair chance to get focused, never mind stay focused.

In order to understand where you want to go, you need to first ask yourself where you are today.  My suggestion is to start by writing out your goals and priorities and start from there.

The next step is to develop a vision of where you want to go and that begins with taking the time to think about your future.  If you have a working business plan I need to ask you when you last reviewed it and if it is working for you today?  What does your business plan say and how do you use it?  Ideally, a business plan is complimented by a marketing plan that has a sales strategy attached to it.

Without your essential ideas and plans on paper, it is easy to lose focus on what really matters.  Bottom line, you need a plan to stay focused on where you want to go.  Here are some tips to get and stay focused:

#1.  Write out 5 specific goals you want to accomplish.  All personal and professional goals need to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely!

#2.
Create a vision of yourself thinking, acting, and feeling your goals.

#3.
Share your goals with others.  By writing out and then sharing your goals, you become accountable to them and develop a sense of ownership, not to mention that two heads are always better than one!

FINAL THOUGHTS...

Staying Focused is a Balancing Act

Staying focused is a balancing act of today's business with tomorrow's planning.  Creating the big picture is the first step.  It starts with a written business plan focusing on where you want to be (your vision) and then written goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely), to help you get there.  Start your focus today!

Make it a GREAT Week!
